More USA Workers Will Be Eligible For Overtime Pay

The USA Department of Labor announced today that starting December 1, 2016, almost all salaried workers including even managers, who receive up to $47,476 a year will be eligible for time-and-a-half overtime pay if they work more than 40 hours per week. And will allow another 4.2 million workers to earn overtime.
In addition to the increase in the pay threshold, the USA Department of Labor also said that this brand-new rule will update every 3 years to adjust the cap for inflation.
But The National Retail Federation warned that companies will turn salaried workers to an hourly status to cover the cost of this new rule, which could hurt employee morale.
